The recorded video has a lot of background sound. |

Symptom:
When you play back the recorded video, there is a lot of background sound.
Troubleshoot and possible rectifications:

Make sure that you are using an external microphone instead of the webcam’s built-in microphone.
Note A webcam’s built-in microphone is suitable to be used in a quiet environment, for example in your own house. But it is not suitable if it is used in a room, like a computer lab, that many people are speaking at the same time.

Make sure that when you are using an external microphone, you have also chosen that as your recording device. To do that, click on the Audio/Video button that is below the webcam preview screen in Step 2 and choose the appropriate audio device. To ensure you have made the right setting, do a short recording and then play back.

If the sound quality did not improve, try another setting. If that still does not improve, go through the same process again but change another microphone.
