The fourth leg of the ASEAN NewsMaker Project was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 30 to 31 July 2009. The opening addresses were given by His Excellency Mr. Has Sam Ath (Deputy Director-General of General Department of Administration and Finance), His Excellency Mr. Him Suong (Deputy Director-General of TVK and Chairman of ASEAN COCI for Cambodia) and His Excellency Mr. Thach Phen, Secretary of State, Ministry of Information.

42 teachers and students from 10 different schools congregated at the Ministry of Information for the two-day workshop where they learnt the NewsMaker software to produce the 10 video clips showcasing their country and their culture, with themes like Cambodian Food, Cambodian  Art, Transportation in Cambodia, Cambodia Traditional  Sports and so on.

At the end of the two-day workshop, the videos were judged by a panel of 4 judges comprising of His Excellency Mr. Him Suong, Mr. Ngoeun Chanline P. (from Ministry of Information, Cambodia), Mr. Has Sophak (Bureau Chief, Ministry of Information) and Mr.Benson Loo (CEO and Co Founder of EyePower Games). The three best videos were then selected and members from the winning teams won prizes sponsored by EyePower Games.

In addition, three best presenters were chosen and they each won a Creative Vado, a pocket video recorder, sponsored by Creative Technology. These three best presenters were Miss Yon Socheata from Yukantor high school, Miss Kaing Sokkheng from Chea Sim Santhomouk high School and Mr. Heng Piseth from Ruoesey Keo high School. All participants received a letter of participation and each participating school received a set of NewsMaker software, a Creative Webcam and headsets sponsored by EyePower Games.

The prize presentation was graced by the honor of His Excellency Mr. Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information, who addressed the audience and gave away the prizes to the participants.
